Golf Course Summer Wedding | Brookmeadow Country Club

CANTON, MA

‍Nicolette and Jake got married at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton, MA, surrounded by greenery from the ceremony through cocktail hour. Nicolette was so excited about the photography from the start, and that kind of enthusiasm makes the whole experience even more fun for me. I loved getting to photograph this day, from the outdoor setting to all the moments that unfolded along the way.

Brookmeadow Country Club has beautiful rolling greens and a ceremony space surrounded by greenery. The overcast skies on Nicolette and Jake's wedding day made for a lovely backdrop, with that green landscape stretching from the ceremony through cocktail hour. But as beautiful as the setting was, it's the smiling relatives, the crying bridesmaids, and all the people who show up for you that make a wedding day special. The greenery is nice. Your people are everything.

The rolling greens at Brookmeadow Country Club gave us a beautiful setting for portraits, and I loved being able to make use of the greenery throughout the day. I always want to be respectful of what a couple is comfortable with in front of the camera. If you're feeling playful and want to ham it up a little, I'm absolutely game. Posing and camping it up can be a fun way to loosen up, but nothing should feel forced.

I'm also always looking for little opportunities to make more photographs happen, whether that's sneaking away for a few minutes between scheduled events or taking advantage of a beautiful spot we happen to pass. For Nicolette and Jake's wedding, I had my assistant along for the day, which meant an extra set of hands to fluff a dress, fix a stray hair, or help us make the most of those little windows and keep the mood light and fun. I photographed the day with both digital and film cameras, bringing a mix of approaches to the same celebration.

I want to photograph all of it. The shoes kicked off under the table, the bags hanging off chairs, the table settings someone spent hours putting together, the people laughing, the kiss I happened to catch. The little things that make up a wedding day, right alongside the big ones.

And when the party gets going, I'm not quietly spying from the sidelines. I'm right there in the middle of it, watching, anticipating, and photographing the fun as it happens. I want to catch the moments you planned, the ones you didn't, and all the little things you might not even realize were happening until you see the photos.

Getting married at Brookmeadow Country Club, or somewhere else with room to roam? I'm always up for playful portraits, a little posing, and making the most of whatever your wedding day throws our way.
