I’M ALYSSA

I'VE BEEN PHOTOGRAPHING WEDDINGS FOR MORE THAN A DECADE, WHICH MEANS I'VE SEEN A LOT OF THINGS. BEAUTIFUL THINGS, WEIRD THINGS, VERY DRUNK THINGS, AND THINGS THAT DEFINITELY WEREN'T ON THE TIMELINE.

I'M HERE FOR ALL OF IT.

I'VE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO SPEND MY WORKING LIFE AROUND SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS: PEOPLE, FOOD, HOSPITALITY, CELEBRATION, AND A GOOD AMOUNT OF CHAOS. I PHOTOGRAPH WEDDINGS AND RESTAURANTS, WORK IN RESTAURANTS, AND SPEND A LOT OF TIME IN THE WORLDS SURROUNDING BOTH.

There’s something I love about documenting places where people have come together to do something special. A wedding and a great restaurant aren't all that different in that way—there's good food, a lot of care behind the scenes, people looking their best, people letting loose, and usually somebody crying or laughing harder than expected.

I like being in the middle of all of that. Watching what happens, talking to people, making them comfortable, and figuring out how to photograph the feeling of being there—not just what it looked like.

I GREW UP IN BOSTON, LIVED IN NYC, AND SPENT SOME TIME IN THE HIGH DESERT OF ARIZONA.

I HAVE A LOVE OF SWIMMING HOLES, CAPE COD MIDCENTURY MODERN HOUSES, WALKABLE CITIES, AND HOT WEATHER THAT MAKES EVERYONE ELSE COMPLAIN.
