A private Nantucket elopement

Long Pond, Nantucket
The Pearl, Nantucket

This love story began at The Boarding House on Nantucket and their adjacent bar The Pearl where Molly and Sarah met years ago. Molly was the Chef de Cuisine and Sarah a bartender. They didn't get together right away but instead reconnected at a Boston based restaurant where Molly was the Chef de Cuisine and Sarah was the wine director. This time they started dating. For their wedding it was only fitting that they returned to Nantucket (and to The Pearl) for an intimate celebration.

MOLLY GETS READY

Molly got ready at a friend's guest house with her bestie, Mo, sipping beers and slipping into a sage green suit embroidered with the word “Yahtzee.”

The embroidery was a nod to Sarah's favorite game and to the way Molly proposed in Paris—with a ring hidden inside a Yahtzee shaker.

SARAH GETS READY

Sarah got ready at her aunt's house, a place where she grew up and spent her summers. She was surrounded by cousins who helped with hair and makeup.

I love getting to document weddings at home. All the little details that make a house a home. I like watching people move through space that they’ve been in before, that has meaning to them.

GETTING MARRIED ON LONG POND

The two were married on the dock at Long Pond, surrounded by just a handful of friends and family. They exchanged personalized vows and said their I do's with the water all around them.

If you CAN saber a champagne bottle you SHOULD saber a champagne bottle on your wedding day.

PHOTOS AROUND NANTUCKET

After the ceremony, we headed out for photos around the island. As Molly and Sarah drove around in their Jeep, people passing by cheered for them, which made the whole thing feel extra intimate, like the island was celebrating them.

A COSTUME CHANGE & A TOAST

The couple headed downtown where Sarah did a quick costume change at the Faraway Hotel, then made their way to The Pearl for a celebratory toast.

AN ODE TO THE ISLAND

Every part of the day felt connected to Nantucket and to Molly and Sarah's story there. From getting ready in private homes to getting married on the water, driving around the island, to drinks at The Pearl. The whole day felt like an ode to the place where their story began, and to the love and friendships they've found through working in hospitality.
