A two day Boston elopement and celebration

MISTRAL, BOSTON
EQUAL MEASURE, BOSTON

Emily and John's wedding took place over two days in Boston, with each day having its own feel. On day one we started at home with just the two of them, then headed into downtown for an intimate city ceremony in Post Office Square followed by dinner at Mistral. The next day, they gathered a big group of friends and family at Equal Measure in Kenmore Square for cocktails, dinner, and more celebrating.

I loved the way they made the wedding their own by giving themselves two completely different days to spend with the people they love.

DAY ONE GETTING READY AT HOME

Emily and John started the day at their condo, just the three of us. It was casual, quiet, and intimate, like simply spending a little time together before everything began.

A CEREMONY IN POST OFFICE SQUARE

Emily and John chose Post Office Square for their ceremony, a beautiful nod to the city they call home, and so close to their condo we simply walked over. The ceremony was technically happening right in the middle of downtown, with people passing through on their way from work, but somehow it still felt private and intimate.

It was really lovely being surrounded by the city while having this small, personal moment with the people closest to them. After the ceremony, we took some time for family portraits before hopping in a cab to head to dinner.

DINNER AT MISTRAL

After the ceremony, we headed to the South End for dinner at Mistral. Their private dining room is so pretty with soaring ceilings, long curtains, and a beautiful atmosphere that felt perfectly suited to an intimate dinner with friends and family.

It was a quieter second chapter to the day: sitting down together, lingering over dinner, and celebrating without needing to rush off to the next part of the wedding.

A SECOND DAY AT EQUAL MEASURE

The following day, friends and family gathered at Equal Measure in Kenmore Square for cocktails, dinner, and more celebrating.

One of my favorite parts of the day was having time to make portraits before the party began. Emily and John allotted enough time to use this gorgeous bar to take really fun photos.

Once everyone arrived, the evening shifted into a your favorite cocktail bar filled with all your favorite people.

It was an absolute delight to work with Emily and John over the course of two days. They were so generous with their time and, more than anything, made space for the photographs to be part of the experience rather than something we had to rush through.
